This was the second of the two in my first hour. The ideas are simple but can be used for any age athlete that is having trouble with their flip turns - specifically controlling the arms. Let me know what you think.
TO VIEW VIDEO USE SAFARI WEB BROWSER.
I am having trouble seeing any video on any of these slides, if there is any.
ReplyDeleteAfter downloading the Safari the videos are very much visible.
ReplyDeleteWe usually practice first the somersault in water, then we do the somersault / flip after a glide (in motion), then we go and do it against the wall.
If some of the kids are better & get bored, I usually make them push off the wall, do a flip/ somersault (180degrees) and immediatelly after that make a streamlined position on their backs & try to glide backwards a bit. In order to glide backwards even a bit after the flip, they have to do it very fast & efficiently.
